Rose
Estes is a journalist, editor and best selling novelist. She has spent much of her life with an assortment of dogs, cats,
possums, squirrels, birds, bobcats and salamanders.
In 1990,
an animal rescue involving a large number of seriously sick cats and dogs, led her to develop a natural
pet food company, Nature's Menu (www.naturesmenu.com) providing dogs and cats with a
diet tailor made for their specific requirements.
Over
the years, a small collection of vintage photos of dogs and cats and their people began to grow. Eventually, the collection
became so large that it could not be ignored and something had to be done with it. She thought, "wouldn't it be fun to
make a few cards to send to our friends!"
Gary
Hauser has been a sociologist, a commercial salmon trawler,
a cattle farmer, a world renowned wood sculptor/carver,
the owner of a prestigious bead gallery, and more recently
the creator of magnificent, unique, illuminated jewelry.
His constant
support, encouragement and fine artistic eye, has carried the Woof Gang project from the "wouldn't it be fun..." stage
to reality.
